Values and Sustainability: Sustainable Schools

movement. The Australian Sustainable Schools Initiative (AuSSI) is a national
program promoting and supporting EfS through schools (and preschools). You are
invited, as educators of all sectors, to find out more about EfS and
sustainable schools and join the movement towards a peaceful, equitable and
sustainable world.

Values-based Service Learning for resilience and wellbeing

on a long-term study at the University of Nottingham, this workshop
will explore the benefits of values-based service learning in action,
linked to resilience, socio-emotional wellbeing and spirituality, and

The impact of stillness on thinking, learning and behaviour (K - 7)
Saturday 23 February, 10am to 4pm

workshop will explore the many beneficial effects of stillness on
thinking, learning and behaviour for both teachers and students.
Participants will experience and receive handouts of a range of

The Value of Time in our personal and professional lives

invited to explore the value of time, the importance of prioritising
and comparing the relative worth of activities to which our time and
energy are directed, so that professional satisfaction, relationships,
spontaneity and quality of life are preserved and further
developed.

The Value of being in "the zone" (K - 7)
Tuesday 11 March, 4.30 for 4.45 - 7pm

People
in many areas of life talk of times when they have been "in the zone" -
when everything seemed to fall into place, when a task seemed
effortless. In this workshop participants will explore what this means,
how it relates to values and how it applies in the classroom.
Participants will experience accessing this state easily at will and
how to teach this skill to their students. Fee: $20 members $30

Participants
will explore values in action for service learning through the science
and life of Dr Candace Pert in her book "Molecules of Emotion" and the
implications for educational practice. The session will explain how
peptides sustain wholeness, interconnectedness and wellbeing -
physical, mental and emotional, linked to a spirituality of service and
